The writing section contains two tasks:

Task 1 – Visual Interpretation
  • Description of a graph, chart, table, map, or diagram
  • 150–180 words
  • Maximum Score: 9 Bands
  • Assesses your ability to present and compare information logically
Task 2 – Essay Writing
  • Opinion-based or argument essay
  • 250–280 words
  • Maximum Score: 9 Bands
  • Evaluates your ability to express ideas clearly with examples and structured arguments

4. Speaking Skills

Total Score: 9 Bands
The speaking test consists of Three Phases:

Task 1 – Introduction
  • General questions about yourself, your life, hobbies, and background
  • Tests your fluency, clarity, and confidence
Task 2 – Cue Card Round
  • You receive a topic card
  • 1 minute to prepare
  • Speak for 1–2 minutes continuously
  • Assesses content organization and speaking flow
Task 2 – Discussion
  • Follow-up questions related to the cue card topic
  • Tests analytical thinking, opinions, and communication skills
